Located on the south west coast of Mallorca is the very popular resort of Santa Ponsa. Situated next to Magaluf
and Palma Nova, where you will find a water park, a go-karting centre and mini golf courses. Originally a small fishing village, Santa Ponsa has developed over the years into a lively holiday destination much loved by families. This very popular resort is only twelve miles west of Palma making transfers from the airport fairly short.

Santa Ponsa enjoys a typical Mediterranean weather, with hot summers and mild winters. The avarage temperature ranges from 20-35 degrees. There is hardly any rain, even in the winter and the weather still remains fairly humid. Santa Ponsa is very popular with the British & the Irish. Its sandy beach has been artificially extended to cater for the increasing number of visitors. The clubs offer ladies nights and foam parties as well as a wide variety of music to suit everyones tastes. The holiday season begins at the end of April and lasts until late October.

The atmosphere in Santa Ponsa is lively and bustling, with plenty of bars and restaurants serving up everything from authentic Spanish cuisine to British favourites. Many bars play live music and the clubs and discos are generally busy, but nothing like the 18-30 scene at neighbouring Magaluf. Santa Ponsa boasts 3 golf courses within the area, with one open to the public, tennis is widely available and there is a dive school in the resort

Whilst it is 'buzzing' from May to mid-October each year, it is a lot quieter in the Winter months but for those of you who want to enjoy some sun and have a relaxing and peaceful Winter break, then Santa Ponsa is for you. There are bars, cafes and restaurants open so you will have somewhere to go during the day and at night.

Spain is well know for its fiestas and The September Fiesta, which marks the landing of James I and his subsequent conquering of the island from the Moors in September (10th) 1229, is the biggest Fiesta of the year in Santa Ponsa. It is a 10-day long celebration - which entails a lot of eating and drinking. The culmination of the Fiesta is on the Saturday closest to 10th September each year with the parade from the cross at the Marina through the town to the main beach.
