Together with its neighbour, Magalluf, the resort of Palma Nova on the south west coast of Mallorca makes up
the most popular holiday area on the island, situated a few miles west of the capital, Palma de Mallorca.
Palma Nova is renowned for its lively nightlife and activities. Young groups of singles and young couples are well suited to the resort during the summer, however in the lower seasons, the resort becomes popular with families as the nightclubs are rarely open. Palma Nova has very hot weather, especially during July and August. All the way between May and October is sunshine and its only from November to April that you may need a jacket in the evenings. It is also more likely to rain in the winter months so you may wish to wrap up warm. Holidaymakers who prefer not to stray too far from their accommodation and the beach will be able to find all they need in the commercial centre of Palma Nova, which is liberally sprinkled with convenience stores, souvenir shops, gift shops, and clothing outlets. There are two water parks in the area providing great fun for both children and adults

Palma Nova is a great base to relax or explore from. The main City of Palma is only 8kms away and is easily accessible by bus and/or taxi. Palma is famous for its Cathedral, and the Paseo Maritemo. There are a numerous shops and a good selection of bars and cafes. There are several golf courses only 5 minutes taxi ride away. Other attractions which are all in the vicinity of the resort are Marineland, Pirates, House of Katmandu, Golf Fantasia, Western Water Park, Aqualand and a variety of boats trips.

Palma Nova beach is very clean and safe and sunbeds are availanle to hire for approximately 4.5 euros per day. The sea is great for snorkelling or safe swimming. The Stadium Palma Nova has fabulous cabaret acts (especially Rod Stewart). The set is super with several TV screens and excellent speaker systems which means that you can hear but still have a conversation. The bar staff are super and this venue is highly recommended for a night out.

Palma Nova offers a wide choice of activities for holidaymakers of all ages ... it isn't just for the young as many people believe. The exception being the Punta Balena which is predominently occupied by youngsters throughout the main Summer months. But the resort have a lot to offer people of all ages and it is just as much a family resort for most of the year as it is for the partygoers. Palma Nove weather is good in Winter and, while many establishment close down, there are still places open for you to have an enjoyable Winter break. Palma Nova is particularly busy in the Winter months.

In summer, Palma Nove is popular with young families and groups of friends, who are drawn to the fast food, the all-you-can-eat buffet and the family-friendly establishments (of which there are many), but, come Autumn, the clientele gets a little more mature, and this is when the resort's great Spanish and fine dining restaurants really come into their own

There is a strong team of police and civil defence, as well as medical services, and infrastructure that keep cleaning streets, sidewalks and beaches in perfect condition for the enjoyment of tourists. The nearest airport is Palma airport this is approximately 15 minutes drive away. There is a regular bus service to and from the airport. Taxis are readily available also. Car hire is not essential as Palma Nova is very central. Fly to Palma airport in Mallorca then take a taxi or local bus service to Palma Nova. Flights to Palma are available with all the low cost airlines flying from most of the major airports inthe UK and many other countries.
