Cala Mandia is a quiet resort on the East coast of Mallorca. It has a lovely beach and small selection of bars and restaurants, but there is very little in the way of nightlife. Cala Mandia has a good range of accommodation from hotels to apartments, and a number of shops providing holiday essentials as well as bars and restaurants.
The adjoining resort of Cala Romantica is only a couple of kilometres away but that is smaller than Cala Mandia, although it also has a nice beach. The better known resort of Porto Cristo is only 5 kilometres away, as are the famous Caves of Drach. There is a Mini Train which runs between Cala Romantica, Cala Mandia and Porto Cristo.

Cala Mandia has a good choice of restaurants serving traditional as well as international cuisine.
Fish features prominently on menus and there are some excellent fish restaurants overlooking the bay. Tapas are a good way to sample local food as a variety of dishes is served in small portions, ideal as a first course or to fill the sometimes lengthy gap between lunch and dinner. As a result, Cala Mandia has kept closely to its origins as a quiet seaside area. The tourist developments in the area are relatively new, and most are oriented towards families on holiday and older couples. Cala Mandia is very quiet and relaxed by both day and night.

There are shops providing daily necessities as well as gifts and holiday souvenirs. There are numerous bars and restaurants offering a range of food and catering for most tastes. Although Cala Mandia has a limited number of leisure activities, a wider range, including water sports, can be found at neighbouring resorts. The coastline south from Cala Mandia is a sparsely populated and unspoiled landscape of rocky coves and sheltered sandy beaches.

Cala Varques and Cala Magraner, a few kilometres to the south, have the reputation of being two of the most beautiful beaches on the island, and feature on many postcards of the island. Cala Varques is surrounded cliffs that plunge directly into deep water, which are a favourite spot for jumping and diving. This part is undeveloped, and so there are no facilities for tourists on these beaches - visitors are advised to bring their own food and water
